Save a life change lives was specifically created to target the drought stricken areas in kenya. The number of people acutely malnourished and in need of immediate support has risen catastrophically. The numbers are too high for us to sit back and ignore. The charity has both short and long term goals. Short term - we aim to create an awareness through various platforms e,g social media and fundraising events e.t.c. We desperately need to buy food and water inorder to save lives. Our long term goal is to educate the people on various methods of water conservation and water harvesting. The number of people dying is increasing alarmingly and to simply do nothing about it is not an option. This charity is willing to put in the work to bring the change that is desperately needed. Lets all join hands and make hunger history.
We aim to increase the availabilty of the improved technologies to harnes scarce and renewable resources for water and food production. Such projects and activities are crucial, however without proper and adequate funding, it would be difficult to carry out these projects, and therefore the problem continues to re-occur.
In the drought affected areas, the number of people deprived of food, has more than doubled; – from 1.3 million to 2.7 million. Some 357,285 children and pregnant and lactating mothers are acutely malnourished, and desperately needs food and water.
The drought has also had a major impact on water resources, where 30 per cent of rural water points are nonfunctional resulting in a five-fold increase in water prices leaving some 2.6 million people in urgent need of safe water. Households are largely – and unseasonably – dependent on boreholes in drought-affected areas, with most other water sources having run dry.
We are committed to Save and change lives, by helping the needy and vulnerable. We can't achieve our objectives without your help and support.
